Alpha: Alpha male and alpha female are leaders of packs.

Den Mother/Father: Unofficial title given to the most nurturing werewolf in a pack that opens their home to the pack's children.

Commune: Larger grouping made up of several werewolf packs in one area. There is no specific leader for communes.

Human-Born: Weres that were born in human form.

Hunter: A person of any species that hunts werewolves specifically.

Kin: Normal humans or wolves that are usually part of a pack and know about werewolves.

Lone Wolf: A werewolf, human or wolf born, without a pack. Often regarded with suspicion and wariness.

Mundane: Normal humans or wolves.

Outsider: A visiting werewolf that does not belong to the local pack or commune.

Pack: A smaller grouping of Weres that are fiercely loyal to each other. Often relatives, long-time family friends, and close neighbors.

Ranger: Weres that are sent out to hunt someone down. Often adolescent males.

Second: Second-in-command to the alphas. Supports the alpha pair and enforces rules and decisions, sends out rangers on assignments.

Shift: Changing shape.

True Form: The form the Were was born in.

Wolf-Born: Weres that were born in wolf form.
